Press Room New Hope Istanbul?
More than 10-years ago, Jali Kerımol attended her first session at the Rutgers' Summer School for Alcohol and Drug Studies. She met Madolyn Smith, New Hope's clinical Director at the time, and ended her stay working for 7-months as an intern on New Hope's Marlboro New Jersey Adolescent Unit. Since that time she has been working feverishly in her native Turkey to advance the practice of substance use disorder treatment with a goal of duplicating many of New Hope's practices and of opening a New Hope in Turkey.
We were pleased to see Jale again this year and to meet two of her distinguished colleagues: Dr. Selin Müderrisoglu, a forensic psychologist and Esma Demirezen a research assistant in public health nursing. Both are affiliated with Istanbul University and have joined Jali in her cause. During their visit to New Hope they had the opportunity to meet with Ron Hari, New Hope’s Chairman, Valerie Benjamin, The Director of New Hope’s Adult Unit, as well as with Dr. Comerford, New Hope’s CEO and clients who would be completing their treatment stay the following week. We have pledged our support to their effort and look forward to actively helping Jali and her colleagues meet their goal.
