A new addiction-treatment center in Long Branch is named in memory of one member of a family hard hit over generations by substance abuse.
LONG BRANCH — Shelby Sickles keeps the family history, a duty she took when no one else wanted it, and one she did not immediately embrace.
Sickles, of Wall, is a recent author of the Sickles' story. No Web site or computer program helped her draw illustrated family trees or compose a multi-media music treatment of family vacations.
